Tried this new TJ's Syrah today that I found ystrday bottom feeding there:
1. TraderJoe's Syrah Reserve SantaBarbaraCnty (13.7%; Lot #236) C&B by MillerFamily Wine Co, SantaMaria 2021: Very dark color; strong very spicy/blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry some c-c/peppery Syrah bit black cherry/BienNacido light toasty/Fr.oak bit complex quite lovely nose; fairly tart/tangy strong very spicy/blackberry/Syrah/blueberry slight c-c/peppery bit toasty/Fr.oak somewhat structured bit complex flavor w/ modest tangy tannins; very long/lingering slight metallic/tangy lightly tart strong very spicy/blackberry/Syrah bit c-c/peppery finish w/ modest tannins; surprisingly structured for a wine this cheap & could use several yrs & go out 4-6 yrs; an absolute steal at this price...this is serious Syrah w/ more character than you'd usually find for this price. $10.00 (TJ)

More nittergit from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. This operation is a bit confusing to me & I haven't entirely sorted it out. I've always associated the BienNacido vnyd w/ the Miller family. But there's some kind of incestuous relation between MillerFamily Wine and Bien Nacido. There appears to be an over-arching ownership by the Thornhill Companies. Nicholas & Stephen Miller are involved in both operations. They also own I gather the Central Coast Wine Services facility on Aviation Way in Santa Maria. It seems to be a very complex/intertwined operation that would be the envy of Donald Trump for its obfuscation.
So I suspect some of these grapes came from BienNacido and was made at the Central Coast Wine Services facility. But I really have no idea for sure.
But whatever, this wine is a real winner.
