2001 David Coffaro Aco Modot

It's a bit of a crap shoot with the artificial corks that Dave was using at this point. Tonight was a good experience. The wine is 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Malbec, 14% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot, 6% Barbera, and 5% Petite Verdot. Sharp nose of raspberry and cherry. A bright rush of cherry on the front of the palate changing to dark fruits on the midpalate. Tobacco, pepper and a slight floral element. Fully resolved tannins and nice acidity. The finish is moderately long and mirrors the midpalate. Lovely right now, but I'd drink these up if you have any. A nice accompaniment to grilled lamb loin chops. B+
