Dull brick red color with a blacker core, the rims washed out, on the whole the liquid is clear. Leathery nose with meadow underbrush and poor dirt, floral, mildly reduced to a roasted character in the cherry, dark berry scents, dried orange peel, puts on weight with air time, has a wet cotton ball feel in the nostrils. Medium-bodied, more svelte and focused here, plenty of acidity to assist. The cranberry, strawberry, red cherry is tart and penetrates deep into the finish. Potpourri, orange to white grapefruit citrus, only starts to hint at the end before segueing into a generalized earthiness, this without losing presence. Likely at peak and worth the wait.
