Tried this last night:
1. Carlisle Syrah JudgeFamilyVnyd/BennettVlly (15.9%; 330 cs) SantaRosa 2004: Very dark/near black color w/ little bricking; very strong cold-climate/black olive/blackberry/Syrah/pungent light Rhonish/roasted/smoked meats beautiful complex nose; bit tart/tangy slight metallic very strong black olive/c-c quite blackberry/Syrah/spicy/peppery light toasty/oak slight Rhonish/smokey complex flavor w/ light fairly smooth/ripe tannins; very long/lingering bit pungent/licorice/c-c/black olive strong blackberry/ripe Syrah slight Rhonish/smoked meats slight tangy/metallic complex finish w/ light smooth/ripe tannins; showing a bit of astringing & starting to dry out a bit but a beautiful example of a mature c-c/BennettVlly Syrah; no signs of high alcohol nor pruney/overripe character.
