Frederic Esmonin Clos Prieur Gevrey Chambertin 2010

This wine is just now coming into its own. The color is somewhere between cranberry and cherry. The fruit on the attack is black cherry and plum. The mid-palate segues from plum to mushroom. The finish is all mushroom and forest floor. Earthiness dominates the finish (in a good way). Something spicy on the finish ... white pepper? Then the earthiness takes the final carry. This has become a delicious wine. No sediment. 12.5% alc. With squash galette (with a touch of bacon). 10.16.17. Recommended.
