Norm brought this mystery wine last night:

DiArie PetiteSirah ShenandoahVlly/Calif (EG; 14.2%) Chaim Gur-Arieh/MtAkum 2005: Very dark/black color w/ slight bricking; strong overripe/plummy/Amarone-like strong blackberry/PS/briary bit alcoholic slight earthy/peppery some vanilla/Am.oak/toasty nose; soft/fat bit alcoholic/hot rather overripe/Amarone-like strong blackberry/PS/SV briary/slight peppery some toasty/vanilla/oak bit earthy/dusty flavor w/ some hard/ripe/dtying tannins; very long rather overripe/Amarone somewhat hot/alcoholic strong blackberry/briary/PS some vanilla/oak finish w/ modest hard/ripe tannins; showing a bit of age and starting to dry out a bit & the alcohol coming to the forefront but still plenty of ripe fruit remaining. $35.00
